Our Roots

“My journey in the bridal and fashion industry began long before I ever owned a business”

I grew up in Poland during the 1960s and 1970s, a time when life under communism was challenging and resources were scarce. One of my greatest privileges was watching my mother work in her small home studio, where she created bridal gowns by hand. Seeing her cut fabrics, sew intricate designs, and apply detailed hand and machine embroidery left a lasting impression on me—one that would quietly shape my future.

In 1980, just before the fall of communism in Poland, I immigrated to the United States. Two years later, with modest savings and a small loan, my wife and I purchased a bridal boutique in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. What began as a retail business soon evolved when we built relationships with major bridal designers and manufacturers in Manhattan. They encouraged me to begin producing gowns for them—and that moment marked the true beginning of my manufacturing journey.

We converted our boutique into a small workroom and began producing limited runs for New York designers, starting with Jenna Bridals. As demand grew month after month, we made the bold decision to close the boutique and focus entirely on manufacturing. By 1985, we had moved into a larger facility and were operating a full-scale factory with approximately 50 employees, producing hundreds of bridal gowns each month for clients such as Jenna Bridals and Demetrios among others.

During those early years, I learned every aspect of the craft firsthand—cutting fabrics, sewing, embroidery, lace draping on mannequins, lace machine attaching and even personally delivering gowns daily to Manhattan. By 1988, the business had expanded significantly, employing nearly 200 workers and producing several hundred gowns every week.

In 1989, Poland regained its independence. While returning permanently wasn’t an option for me, the country presented a unique opportunity as many manufacturers began shifting production overseas. I chose Poland as a competitive alternative to China and opened a second factory there, producing bridal gowns for U.S. clients including Demetrios, Alfred Angelo, and others. By the early 1990s, we operated large facilities in both New York and Poland, employing over 300 people combined.

Throughout the 1990s, I had the privilege of working with some of the most respected names in fashion, including Vera Wang, Jim Hjelm, Carolina Herrera, and Lazaro. Our teams produced the first Christian Dior and later Givenchy bridal collections manufactured in the United States.

As global production increasingly shifted to China, U.S.-based manufacturing declined. By 2000, after selling my factory, I accepted an offer from Vera Wang to become Head of Production. I relocated to Florida, where I spent seven years transforming and optimizing production operations for the brand.

After leaving Vera Wang, I returned to my second passion: technology. With a background in science and computer programming, I developed the F.A.M.O.U.S. System (Fashion Apparel Manufacturing Online Users System)—a complete ERP solution designed specifically for wedding and fashion manufacturers.

In 2011, I was hired by House of Wu to travel to China and redesign their production logistics. I implemented systems that allowed dresses to ship directly from China to customers, bypassing U.S. warehousing entirely. During nearly a year living in China, I built lasting relationships with factory managers, fabric mills, lace suppliers, and accessory manufacturers—connections that continue to shape my work today.

This experience marked the beginning of a new chapter—one that blends craftsmanship, global manufacturing expertise, and technology-driven solutions. That chapter continues to evolve today.
